Yellowstone star Luke Grimes has shared his excitement over a new career avenue away from the hit Western TV show – music. Grimes confirmed on his Instagram page the news that his new song, Hold On, is out now. He collaborated on the song with musician and song writer Foy Vance.
Alongside a picture of the artwork for the song, Grimes wrote: “Over the last few years there arent many people whose music has resonated with me as much as @foyvance. Hes a giant talent and a master truth teller. I will forever be grateful that we were able to collaborate on this song. Hold On ft. Foy Vance is out now.”
While this collaboration is certainly a big deal for the actor, Hold On isn’t Grimes’ first song release. He dropped country track, ‘No Horse to Ride’, at the end of last year. The song featured on an episode of Yellowstone.
Grimes stars as Kayce Dutton on the hit TV show, which recently announced a premiere date following a channel swap. It will air on CBS from the very beginning. Grimes can also currently be seen in Netflix movie Happiness for Beginners opposite Kimmy Schmidt’s Ellie Kemper. The movie didn’t receive great reviews but Grimes spoke enthusiastically about working with Kemper.
“She’s just always brought this really beautiful energy – this kinetic energy, this effervescent thing – to the screen. I read [Helen’s] part, and [Ellie]’s not the first person I would’ve thought of for it. I was like, ‘Oh, she’s doing something different,'” Grimes said.
“That was interesting to me. She’s always so happy-go-lucky in the things that she plays, [like] Kimmy Schmidt. And this one was a little bit of a departure from that. I was like, that’d be interesting, to see her tackle something a little more glum, someone a little more down on their luck and not so happy about their situation.” Yellowstone streams on Peacock in the US, and will be broadcast on CBS from September 17. In the UK, the show can be streamed on Paramount+.
