The Yellowstone cast has no idea how the hotly anticipated season 5 part two will end, as showrunners Taylor Sheridan and John Linson went to extreme lengths to prevent any leaks.

While fans have been busy speculating how lead star Kevin Costner will bow out as patriarch John Dutton, it turns out that some of the show’s actors are equally intrigued as to how the storyline will be wrapped up.

Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com at the Yellowstone premiere at Museum of Metropolitan Art on Thursday night, Ellis Steele star John Emmet Tracy revealed he and many others in the cast have been ‘left in the dark’ over the show’s conclusion.

With the final half of the popular Paramount Network western set to launch on November 10, he shared: ‘I don’t know how the season ends. A lot of people were sort of kept in the dark.

‘In fact, even with some of the episodes that we’re in, you don’t see the scenes before yours or the scenes after.

‘So, we’re going to get the chance to see an episode tonight and everybody’s excited here.’

John, 55, added: ‘In fact, I was just talking to some of the other actors and everyone’s saying, “did anybody tell you?” And so, it’s going to be fun to get together in there and watch the episode.’

With just days until the first episode of the last season drops, John isn’t ready to say goodbye to Yellowstone.

He continued to DailyMail.com: ‘For me, it’s been five years and three seasons, and you become very close to the people that you work with.

‘Not just in front of the camera, but part of the crew, we’ve got an amazing crew.

‘I’m feeling nostalgic and I’m feeling sad, but I’m feeling quite proud of the TV that’s been created and the fact that it’s resonated with people.’

Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, owners of the largest ranch in Montana, commonly known as The Yellowstone.

The plot revolves around family drama at the ranch, as well as the conflicts along the ranch’s shared border with the Broken Rock Indian reservation, Yellowstone National Park, and land developers.

The series, which stars Kevin as family patriarch John Dutton III, premiered on the Paramount Network in June 2018, and has been a huge hit for the network since its inception.

Kevin, 69, shocked fans across the globe in June when he announced that he would not be returning for the back half of the fifth and final season to instead focus on his film, Horizon.

In the short clip shared on his social media pages, he said: ‘I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about Yellowstone — that beloved series that I love, that I know you love — I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5b or into the future.’

‘It was something that really changed me,’ Kevin continued. ‘I loved it, and I know you loved it.

‘I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning.’

John shared that he has not had any communication with Kevin ahead of Thursday night’s premiere, but nevertheless heaped praise on the actor for making Yellowstone ‘so legendary’.

‘No, no, I haven’t heard anything from him,’ he said.

‘I don’t know if the others have, [but] I will say though that he’s an amazing man to work with and he’s a legend and I think he has contributed so much to making Yellowstone so legendary.’
