Blue Bloods Season 13 had some big developments for Erin Reagan. Can Blue Bloods Season 14 bring more changes to Bridget Moynahan’s ADA? See what we know! Season 13 of Blue Bloods had some big stuff for Erin as she went in planning to run for District Attorney. This obviously meant tension with the current DA, Kimberly Crawford, even as Erin tried to do her best at her job.
Complicating matters was Erin restarting her on-off relationship with ex-husband Jack Boyle (Peter Hermann). Anthony was worried as Jack’s connections to underworld figures didn’t look good for Erin’s campaign.
More worries had Frank refusing to endorse Erin, although Erin realized it was because Frank had to stay out of this. Erin also faced a crisis when she exposed another ADA of corruption, only for the man to kill himself.
There were also the usual Reagan family clashes, including Eddie getting Jack to defend a woman in self-defense and other cases. This combined with Erin worried about changing her image to be D.A. and how she’d be too busy with politics to really do her job.
So in the season finale, just after getting Jack and Anthony to help her on a case, Erin surprised everyone by announcing to the press she wouldn’t be running for office after all. What does this mean for Season 14?
What can happen to Erin without the DA race in Blue Bloods Season 14?
Erin’s choice not to run for DA is going to take everyone aback, given how she’d seemed so invested in it. Yet it also makes sense as Erin prefers helping the people who fall through the cracks and need aid far more than the headaches of dealing with the press and political side.
That can also ease tensions with the family as Erin wasn’t eager to be clashing more with Frank. She already has enough handling her brothers, making some messes without the DA’s office adding to it.
What happens with Erin and Jack is a question as neither seems ready to get fully back together but enjoy a “friends with benefits” relationship. Erin is rather busy with her job for a full dating life, although Jack can still be a presence.
It may be better for Erin to be freed of the pressures of a campaign and realize she can do more good where she is in the DA’s office. Expect her to take it all in her usual stride, as Season 14 of Blue Bloods should have Erin back where she belongs.
