Hope for a potential Blue Bloods spinoff is at an all-time high for fans of the police procedural drama who are sad to see it end after season 14. Vanessa Ray, who portrays Edit “Eddie” Janko-Reagan, had an interesting take on all of the chatter surrounding a potential continuation of the franchise.

During an October 18 interview with TV Insider, Vanessa, 43, was asked if she would be interested in doing a spinoff of Blue Bloods.

“I would do anything with these people,” she said. “So, yes, of course. I don’t know what world it would make sense for Eddie to be in a spinoff at all. But if they need to put me in a wig and dye my eyebrows and I’ll play a different character just so I get to hang out with all of them more, then I’ll do it.”

The Pretty Little Liars alum also opened up about Eddie’s “biggest challenges” in the final few episodes of the season; however, she made sure not to give too much away.

“That’s spoiler territory for sure,” she said. “The challenges, I think — she loves this family so much and she loves her job so much. And anyone that comes in her path becomes one of her people, I would say.”

“She is estranged from her family and all of those things,” Vanessa continued about her popular Blue Bloods character. “So when she falls for someone, she loves someone, she loves them really hard. And so I think this season you just see the commitment to those people in her life that she loves.”

After the season 14 premiere of Blue Bloods in February, Vanessa and costar Will Estes revealed they were both interested in a possible spinoff with their characters at the time.

“We’ll do it. We’ll take it,” she told Nerds of Color at the time about the idea, to which Will, 46, responded, “We’ll do it. One season, two seasons? Let’s do it. Pitch it!”

“Let’s pitch it! Let’s make it somewhere warm,” Vanessa chimed in.

CBS announced that the series finale of Blue Bloods would air on December 13 at 10 p.m. on the network. So far, no official spinoff is in the works. But that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping that something could come together in the future.

Cast member Abigail Hawk dropped a bombshell about a spinoff idea that was floating around.

“There was talk of a spin-off happening,” she told Hello! Magazine in an interview published on October 23. “But if it did happen, so immediately after our series ends, it would have to be not involving the Reagan’s or the NYPD at all. It would have to be set in L.A. or we follow a different family.”

For those who were wondering if Blue Bloods was going to be picked up by another network after season 14, Abigail, 42, had an answer.

“I don’t think there’s a possibility of it going to another network – I know that there’s been a bit of chatter about that, but I don’t think that that’s a viable option given the talks that we’ve had with the cast and the producers and things like that,” she told the outlet.
