Tom Selleck is not actually at risk of losing his Ventura County, California ranch even though he worried fans by saying he would not be able to afford it anymore.

In reality, the actor, 79, is not strapped for cash and is reportedly worth a whopping $45 million considering his distinguished, decades-spanning acting career.

As the highest paid star on Blue Bloods, Selleck is reportedly paid a handsome sum of around $200K for each episode and his multimillion net worth largely comes from his time on TV, according to Parade.

This comes after he made a shocking revelation on CBS Sunday Morning that he may have to ‘give up’ his 63-acre property now that Blue Bloods was canceled.

Sources told TMZ on Tuesday that even though he told the CBS interviewer he was serious, that’s just not the case.

His comments about possibly losing his ranch were more meant to reflect his desire to continue working and were not intended to literally describe the actual state of his finances, an insiders shared with the site.

The insiders assured the site that the star is not at risk of losing his ranch, a one-time avocado farm, which he purchased in 1988 following his stint on Magnum, P.I.

The TMZ sources said that when the long-running police procedural drama series is set to wrap at the end of the year after the final 14th season, Selleck plans to continue working and is not ready to slow down yet.

The outlet also reported that the property is worth quite a bit — around $12 million to be exact — and makes a considerable addition to his assets.

He reportedly took out some loans, totaling up to $16 million, on the ranch decades ago, and not much else is known about how much of it has been paid off.

Late last year, it was reported that his time playing Frank Reagon, the police commissioner of New York City, on Blue Bloods would soon be coming to an end as CBS announced their plans to not renew the series.

On the topic of the cancellation, he told CBS Sunday Morning: ‘You know, hopefully I keep working enough to hold onto the place.’

During the interview, Selleck also said that he believes that ‘CBS will come to their senses’ and reverse the decision to cancel the show.

‘We’re the third-highest scripted show in all of broadcast,’ he said. ‘We’re winning the night.’

Selleck also shared that he’s not alone in wanting the show to continue.

‘All the cast wants to come back,’ he continued. ‘And I can tell you this — we aren’t sliding off down a cliff. We’re doing good shows and still holding our place. So, I don’t know. You tell me!’

Selleck has starred in the crime drama since it first premiered in September 2010.

The final and 14th season, which consists of 18 episodes, is split into two parts and began airing on February 16.

The final episode of the first half of the season will air on May 17.

Despite being one of CBS’ top-rated shows, it is speculated that the cancelation was likely due to financial reasons as there was a slight dip in the ratings during the past season.

The series was also reportedly more expensive to produce than the other shows on CBS’ slate.
