Bridget Moynahan was pictured attending a book event on Tuesday, in her first public outing since her relationship with ex Tom Brady was used as fodder for mocking jokes in the NFL star’s shock Netflix roast.
The actress, 53, was all smiles as she arrived at a discussion for Blue Bloods co-star Tom Selleck’s book, ‘You Never Know: A Memoir’, in New York City.
The mom-of-one — who shares son Jack, 16, with retired athlete Brady — looked chic in a cream silk blouse with leaf patterns, tucked into a pair of navy pants.
She appeared to be in good spirits just one day after sharing a cryptic post about ‘loyal’ people following the NFL star’s savage roast.
During Sunday evening’s Netflix special ‘The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady’ the seven-time Super Bowl winner, 46, was mercilessly mocked over his personal life, with hosts making multiple jokes about him breaking up with then-pregnant girlfriend Bridget.
At Tuesday’s event Bridget also posed with Selleck, 79, who dished about his Hollywood career in the new book, which is now available in stores.
Her co-star looked handsome as ever in a black suit and tie for the occasion. Inside the event the duo were pictured answering question from the audience.
It was announced in November that season 14 of their show Blue Bloods will be its last. It will be split into two parts. The last eight episodes – part two of the final season – will air in Fall 2024.
Blue Bloods became the second-longest running scripted show on CBS- behind NCIS (with 21 seasons).
Tom plays the character Frank Regan, starring alongside Bridget, Donnie Wahlberg, Will Estes, Vanessa Ray, Marisa Ramirez and Len Cariou.
Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
Bridget’s outing comes a day after she shared a peculiar message about ‘loyal people’ on social media hours after her ex-boyfriend, was subject of a roast on Netflix.
One of the subjects of the jokes was the highly publicized split between Brady and Moynahan.
She re-shared an message from retired wrestler Gail Kim-Irvine, which reads, ‘Loyal people take s**t more personal because they never would’ve done that s**t to you.’
Moynahan added, ‘So true’, in the caption of her post.
One joke during the roast focused on Brady’s breakup with Moynahan, who revealed she was pregnant with his son, Jack, after their split in 2006.
Comedian Nikki Glaser was the one who spearheaded the jokes about the couple’s separation: ‘But seriously, Tom, you’re the best to ever play for too long. You retired, then you came back and then you retired again, I get it, it’s hard to walk away from something that’s not your pregnant girlfriend it’s tough.’
‘Hey, to be fair, he didn’t know she was pregnant, he just thought she was getting fat.’
Brady and Moynahan were first linked back in 2004 before calling off their relationship after two years.
When news broke of Moynahan’s pregnancy, Brady had already begun dating Gisele Bundchen, 43, who he ultimately wed in 2009, before the pair divorced in 2022.
Moynahan and Brady co-parent Jack. The quarterback also has a son, Benjamin, 14, and a daughter, Vivian, 11, with the Brazilian supermodel.
According to People, Brady was there for his son’s birth and Moynahan was ‘very pleased’ he skipped practice to ‘there for the birth and spend a few days with their new child.’
In 2008, Moynahan got vulnerable up about her split from Brady and becoming a single mom during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
‘Going through that traumatic time of being heartbroken and then being pregnant turned my whole life upside down and inside out and just knocked the wind out of me,’ she told the publication. ‘But I got so much out of that … Now I have a child, and it’s the best thing in the world.’
In 2020, Brady revealed to Howard Stern that he hadn’t planned on having children until his ‘late thirties’ before learning Moynahan was pregnant.
‘Next thing you know, I found out that Bridget was pregnant with our son,’ he remembered. ‘So that was a very unique time … and it challenged me in a lot of ways, again, to grow up in a different way.’
He added: ‘And it was very challenging for my son’s mom, you know, because she didn’t envision that either.’
Bundchen’s relationship with jiu-jitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente, was also a popular topic at this roast.
Gisele is said to be ‘deeply disappointed’ and feels ‘disrespected’ by Brady’s roast show.
One shock joke saw comedian Nikki Glaser referencing Valente’s martial arts prowess, saying: ‘How much would it suck for Tom… omg, just knowing your ex-wife’s new boyfriend could beat your a** while eating hers.’
A source told People that Bundchen was left fuming at the special, saying she ‘was deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening’s roast show’.
‘As always, [Bundchen’s] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted,’ the insider went on.
Nikki’s other jabs included: ‘Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying “yes” to this roast was when you said, “Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu.”‘
Nikki added, ‘You have seven rings… well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back.’
Gisele started training jiu-jitsu in 2021, which is when it’s believed she met Joaquim, her instructor. News of them dating was confirmed publicly in February of 2024.
