We have yet to see the end of Yellowstone, but we already know where we’ll see Kelly Reilly next. Reilly, who plays Beth Dutton in the Taylor Sheridan drama, has landed her first post-Yellowstone gig. But what’s Reilly doing after the show ends?
What’s Kelly Reilly Doing After Yellowstone Ends?
THR reports that Reilly is set to lead a new Sky Original crime thriller titled Under Salt Marsh, which will begin filming later this year. The show comes from writer, creator, and executive producer Claire Oakley, who is also set to direct the series.
“Under Salt Marsh is a crime thriller set in a community deeply connected to its environment, and interwoven with the heartache, fears, dreams, and secrets of its people,” said showrunner Oakley. “At the heart of it all is Jackie, a character who embodies the wildness of the place we’re depicting. She’s free-spirited, compassionate, and determined, with a steely resolve that makes her truly of the land. We’re absolutely thrilled to have Kelly Reilly bringing Jackie to life.”
The show is set in the fictional Welsh town of Morfa Halen, set in a community close to a sea that threatens its very existence. As a once-in-a-lifetime storm begins to form, former detective turned teacher Jackie Ellis (Reilly) discovers the body of her eight-year-old pupil, Cefin, seemingly drowned. “The discovery sends shockwaves through the community, reviving the ghost of an unsolved cold case that rocked the town three years prior — the disappearance of Jackie’s niece, Nessa, which cost her career,” the plot synopsis reads.
Under Salt Marsh will be available on Sky and streaming service Now in the U.K., Ireland, and Italy. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution is set to handle international distribution.
Yellowstone is Paramount Network’s Western drama that follows the Dutton family, who own and operate the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, the largest ranch in Montana. The series first premiered in 2018 and for most of its run, it starred Kevin Costner as John Dutton III, the six-generation patriarch of the Dutton family. The show is basically a family drama about the issues at the ranch with the nearby Broken Rock Indian Reservation, wealthy land developers, and more. Yellowstone will end with Season 5, Part 2 and the show will somehow wrap up without Kevin Costner’s John Dutton III. The actor announced he was leaving the series earlier this year.
Reilly has played John’s only daughter since Beth Dutton since Season 1. A brilliant businesswoman and her father’s fiercest protector. Beth is in a fan-favorite relationship with Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), her Dad’s right-hand, who is also in charge of the cowboys at the ranch. The couple wed in an intimate ceremony on the ranch in Season 4, Episode 10.
Season 5 Part 2 of Yellowstone will premiere in November 2024 and all episodes can be streamed on Peacock.
