The movie has a great premise. At the age of 93, legendary Hollywood actor and director Clint Eastwood has begun filming what is expected to be his final movie – a legal thriller titled Juror #2.

The film will star Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, The Great) as a family man that becomes a juror in a murder trial only to come to the realisation that he, in fact, may have caused the death of the victim.

As such, he is faced with a serious moral dilemma: he could attempt to sway the jury verdict and save himself or turn himself in and free the innocent person accused.

Toni Collette (Hereditary, The Sixth Sense) will play the prosecutor in the case, with Juror #2’s cast also including Gabriel Basso (The Night Agent), Kiefer Sutherland (24), Leslie Bibb (Iron Man) and Zoey Deutsch (Set It Up).

Written by Jonathan Abrams, the movie will be the 40th to be directed by Eastwood and comes following his 2021’s neo-Western drama Cry Macho, in which he also starred. The latter received mixed reviews from critics and was not a hit at the box office.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources close to Eastwood say he wanted to helm one more film “in order to be able to ride off into the sunset with his head held high”.
He chose Juror #2 to be that project and began shooting the picture this month, with US news outlet WSAV News 3 posting behind-the-scenes photos of Eastwood and Hoult online.

Eastwood rose to fame playing The Man with No Name in the acclaimed Dollars Trilogy of Spaghetti Westerns, which were made during the mid-1960s. Following this, his role as antihero cop Harry Callahan in the five Dirty Harry movies released throughout the ’70s and ’80s further cemented him as a household name.

In 1971, he made his feature directorial debut with the psychological thriller Play Misty for Me. In the over 50 years since then, he helmed such high profile films as High Plains Drifter, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Unforgiven, The Bridges of Madison County, Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Gran Torino, Invictus, American Sniper, Sully and The Mule.

Juror #2 does not have a release date as of yet.
