But here’s a strange story surrounding Val Kilmer and Bob Dylan, where the former engaged in a regretful childish spat when the latter visited him, for being a fan of his movies.

Apparently, Bob Dylan has been a fan of Val Kilmer’s Tombstone. Well, who isn’t, but shockingly enough, when Dylan asked Kilmer to perform some of his lines, the actor refused upfront. Why? No one knows. But certainly, Kilmer was filled with regret, which led him to send out a weird apology.

Val Kilmer Got Engaged In A Childish Spat When Bob Dylan Came To Meet Him

As it turns out, like most people even songwriter Bob Dylan was a fan of Val Kilmer. Not only that, but even Kilmer was also a fan of Dylan’s works. Thus, out of mutual respect and appreciation for each other’s work, Kilmer arranged a meeting with Dylan. However, when the songwriter eventually showed up at his house, the actor behaved quite strangely. According to an interview with KCRW, Val Kilmer stated his excitement as.

“I was real excited, like a crazy fan, like a child; it was so great.” But then when Bob Dylan showed up at his house willing to talk about Tombstone, Kilmer reacted in a bizarre way. “He shows up and sits down and he wants to talk about Tombstone, but I just can’t, you know, nor can I talk about any of his stuff.”

“Eventually, he says, ‘ain’t you going to say anything about that movie?’ and I said, ‘do some ‘Blowing in the Wind’ and I’ll …that’s what I said to him, basically I said no. I get like that sometimes. So I turned him down and, I thought, no one turns this guy down.”

After turning down Bob Dylan after inviting him to meet, Val Kilmer regretted every decision of his. However, what’s done was done. So, Kilmer eventually decided to fix things by issuing an apology. Only to his surprise, his apology idea turned into a weird thing.

Val Kilmer Sent An Apology Tape To Bob Dylan For Denying The Request

Regretting his decision not to perform his lines in front of Bob Dylan, Val Kilmer mentioned in an interview with KCRW how he felt. “Anyway, I felt like an idiot afterwards, well, yeah I could have said a few lines.” But he realized it was too late. However, Kilmer was offered another chance to rectify his mistake. And he had an idea of sending a tape-recorded apology to Dylan.

“I felt so bad about it. I was like how could I make it up to him? So what I did was, I recorded ‘It’s Alright Ma, I’m Only Bleeding’ but as Doc Holiday [from Tombstone] and I put in all of the big lines from the movie into the song and made him a little tape.”

Unfortunately, the tape turned out to be quite weird, especially after he projected such strange behavior previously. There is no denying the fact that the Tombstone star was indeed awestruck by the presence of the veteran American singer and Songwriter.
