Kevin Costner Earned $1.3 Million Per Episode of Yellowstone

With Taylor Sheridan at the helm of the project as one of the key writers, Yellowstone depicts a tale of Native Americans and ranchers fighting over oil and other commodities. With an ensemble cast of several notable actors, Kevin Costner is at the center of it all as John Dutton.

Being one of the most famous series on television in recent times, Yellowstone also offered Costner a hefty paycheck. Yellowstone Producers Rejected Kevin Costner’s Renegotiation Contract

As per the documents, Kevin Costner had already been committed to a project titled Horizon: An American Saga. The actor had to adjust his timings to act in Yellowstone as well as the other project and for that he renegotiated his contract with the producers of the television series.

In a report by GMA, it is alleged that the actor’s renegotiation contract will come at a price of $12 million for the latter half of the series. This move was rejected by the producers of the series and that’s when Costner alleged that he might move ahead with the legal proceedings.

“I will probably go to court over it. I will earn substantially less in 2023 than I did in 2022. This is because I am no longer under contract for Yellowstone, the principal source of my income last year,”

The actor also observed the lack of preparation for the latter half of season 5 of Yellowstone which may interfere with his schedule all the more. It’s not clear whether the actor truly means to take these matters to trial as the world awaits a response from the producers of Yellowstone and a legal move by Kevin Costner.

Yellowstone received a rating of 8.7/10 on IMDB and 84% on Rotten Tomatoes with Kevin Costner receiving quite fame around the world. The 2018 American series is available to stream on Peacock Premium in the U.S.
