It was the bromance that nobody saw coming, but fans were delighted to see Kevin Costner hanging out with Pete Davidson at the Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.
The Hollywood actor and the comedian were sat side-by-side to watch the Kansas City Chiefs lose to the Philadelphia Eagles, and at one point they appeared to be deep in conversation.
Kevin, who turned 70 last month, looked suave in a crisp white shirt and beige pants as he sat next to the Saturday Night Live alum in the Caesars Superdome stadium in New Orleans.
The Yellowstone actor was caught on camera leaning in to Pete, 31, and according to a lip reader for The Mirror US, he ranted: ‘Everybody hates them, I don’t like ’em, I hate ’em.’
It’s unclear who the father-of-seven was referring to, or which team he was even supporting on the day as he chose not to wear any football merch.
Pete, on the other hand, showed his support for the Eagles wearing a green cap and was all smiles as he and Kevin walked the football field before heading to their seats.
The famous duo also spent time together at Michael Rubin’s 2025 Fanatics Super Bowl Party on Saturday night.
And unsurprisingly, their unexpected bromance sent social media into a frenzy as one person posted: ‘Everyone at our Super Bowl party did a double take.
Another person commented, ‘It’s the most random celebrity pair sighting,’ and a third said: ‘Kevin Costner hanging out with Pete Davidson was definitely NOT on my Super Bowl bingo card.’
Naturally, others couldn’t resist bringing up Pete’s famous dating history, including his past romances with Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, and more.
‘Pete Davidson and Kevin Costner? Jesus. That guy can date anyone he wants. #SuperBowlLIX,’ joked one fan.
One even made light of their age difference, humorously imagining them as if on a family outing, writing, ‘”I told you I don’t like football, Dad.” “Well, your mom said I had to bring you.”‘
Another fan couldn’t help but tie in Kevin’s role in Yellowstone, posting, ‘I’m fascinated to know what Kevin Costner and Pete Davidson are discussing. Hopefully, Davidson is letting him know how much he f***ed Yellowstone.’
Someone else simply wrote: ‘Kevin Costner and Pete Davidson sitting together… much to think about.’
However, they weren’t the only famous faces in the crowd as actors Paul Rudd and Adam Sandler were spotted sitting in the same box as Sir Paul McCartney.
Bradley Cooper was also in attendance with his seven-year-old daughter Lea, while Taylor Swift was seen cheering on her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
However, the hitmaker didn’t look too impressed when she realized the football crowd was booing her when she appeared on the big screen.
Taylor, 35, was seen giving the side eye after being booed before addressing a friend. Lip reader NJ Hickling told told DailyMail.com that the superstar said: ‘Aww what? What’s going on?’
