It’S Gonna Be Wild: Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Teased By Beth Dutton Star

Yellowstone star Kelly Reilly, who portrays Beth Dutton in the show, teases what to expect in season 5 part 2 of the Western, claiming the events will be “wild.” The upcoming episodes will be ending the show, drawing the story of John Dutton and his family to a close. However, the series is also expected to lead into a sequel starring Matthew McConaughey, 2024, which is expected to begin after the last episodes of the main show have aired.

Speaking with Radio Times, Reilly opened up about what to expect from Yellowstone season 5 part 2. Teasing when the last episodes will begin filming, the actor expressed excitement for the final season, and how the series will end. Check out what Reilly had to say below:

Gosh, I’m really looking forward to them [the fans] having them [the last episodes]. We can only shoot this show in the summer because when winter comes in Montana from November through till May, it’s snowing – and shooting this show in the snow with horses, it’s just not possible. So we have one window and last year we lost it because of the actors’ strike. So I’m looking forward to them having the show back. I look forward to giving them their show back and look forward to ending it.

I’m looking forward to giving them the ending of Yellowstone that was always the ending of Yellowstone back when I signed on in 2018 – so it’s like… it’s gonna be wild.

How Will Yellowstone End?

Despite ending later this year, there’s no information yet as to how the Western series will conclude. In November 2023, it was reported that Kevin Costner wouldn’t be returning to Yellowstone to finish out the series, making it even more uncertain where the story could go. Since his character, John Dutton, is the protagonist of the series, it’s difficult to imagine a final batch of episodes where his character doesn’t show up.

However, since filming likely won’t begin until this summer, it could be enough time for series creator Taylor Sheridan and Costner to iron out a deal for the final episodes. Even having John show up briefly to finish out his impeachment storyline would offer enough closure for his character. It could also pave the way for his children to maintain a larger spotlight during the final episodes, especially since Jamie is the one trying to oust his father from power.

Since a Yellowstone sequel is on the horizon, the final episodes could also set up the arrival of McConaughey’s character and show the Ranch falling into the hands of someone possibly outside the Dutton family. With rumors that Beth, Kayce Dutton, and Rip Wheeler will appear in the new series, the show could even end on a cliffhanger for its follow-up. Since Reilly has teased such an exciting final season, it will no doubt be a worthwhile conclusion to the show.
