From 2010 to now, Blue Bloods has entertained viewers with its epic police drama storyline on CBS. Featuring the lives of the Reagan family, all members of law enforcement, the series stars Tom Selleck in the lead. Although the ratings of the show have somewhat plummeted in the last few years with each subsequent season, Blue Bloods is still among the top shows of all time.
Despite its huge popularity and fan base, CBS made the shocking decision to cancel it after its 14th season. While fans are disappointed, nobody is more disappointed than Selleck and the actor vows to bring the show back.
Tom Selleck Still Hopes CBS Will Renew Blue Bloods
Blue Bloods might be a law enforcement-themed drama, but at its core, it is also a family drama. Set in New York City, it focuses on the fictional Reagan family helmed by Tom Selleck‘s Frank Reagan as the New York City Police Commissioner. Containing an amazing cast and premise, the show has for the last decade and more, entertained viewers with its spectacular storyline.
Despite its still high ratings, viewership, and popularity, CBS announced that its cop family drama will end after its upcoming season 14 (via Deadline). Not only is it shocking of the network to cancel one of its most successful series of all time, but it is a disservice to fans to cancel a show that is still well in its prime.
Even the lead star, Tom Selleck, has felt this, and he once again stated that he hopes CBS will come to its senses soon in an interview with Esquire,
What’s the future of Blue Bloods? CBS will tell you it’s ending. I think they’re going to come to their senses. I certainly wish they would. I’m going to do whatever it takes. Tell your friends.

Still sure that the show will come back, Selleck has been detrimental to Blue Bloods’ success. And now that it has been officially put off the slate, fans hope and believe that Selleck will do whatever it takes for the beloved drama to come back.
Tom Selleck Was Once the Top Choice for Indiana Jones
Back when Steven Spielberg first wrote the script for Raiders of the Lost Arc, Tom Selleck was just a young actor with no major roles. He was offered Magnum and had just filmed its pilot, yet the series remained to be sold. During this time, the actor got a surprising call from his agent, telling him that Spielberg and George Lucas wanted to meet him.
I figured I was the last guy on the list. I went because I got to meet Steven Spielberg and George Lucas… When I got home, the phone was ringing. They said, ‘You have a callback for Raiders of the Lost Ark.’ I guess that went well, because I got another phone call: Steven Spielberg wants you to come back to the office.
Revealed Selleck to Esquire, as he went on to tell he was offered the role of the legendary Indiana Jones. However, having just filmed Magnum and CBS fearing he would quit the series, the actor had to say goodbye to the opportunity.
A huge disappointment that he still regrets to this day, Selleck has somehow made peace with the chance he lost.
