Clint Eastwood has had a rather private life throughout his career as an actor. However, one aspect of his life was on display rather loudly. His relationship with Sondra Locke was one that many fans would remember to be an infamous back-and-forth between the couple. Most of their lives have been on public display with regard to how they have been toward each other.

Not only did their relationship end roughly, but the actress also sued him not just on one occasion, but on many more. Whether it was about the palimony or her thinking that the actor was trying to sabotage her career, the actress wanted all she could get after she believed she was treated unjustly.

Clint Eastwood Came In The Way Of Sondra Locke’s Career

Clint Eastwood and Sondra Locke had worked on multiple movies together while they were dating each other. The two went out for fourteen years before they called it quits. Moreover, they knew each other before as well. Eastwood was married to Maggie Johnson at that time and Locke was married to Gordon Anderson. However, their fling was known by everyone.

“As a director, I could not be daddy’s perfect little girl.”

It was only in 1986 that their relationship actually started becoming rocky. While the duo was filming Ratboy, things became less welcoming for Locke. Eastwood was a director, producer, as well as an actor in the movie and so whatever the actress was doing differently, was not sitting well with him. In her palimony with the actor, she was given a $1.5 Million deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. However, no matter how many ideas she kept on pitching, she was continuously being rejected. It wasn’t until later that she found out that the settlement and deal had actually been financed by Eastwood himself. So she then sued him once again for fraud.

Clint Eastwood And Sondra Locke Came To A Settlement

When Sondra Locke sued Clint Eastwood for sabotaging her career, things became rather complicated to the point where the case was even taken to trial in 1996. The actress was furious about how she wanted her career back and how it was unfair to how the actor was using his power to tamper with her work.

“This was never about money. It was about my fighting for my professional rights.”

The case, however, was let go of only after two days of trial because both Locke and Eastwood had come to a settlement with the former being offered a large sum of money. How much money she got was not revealed, although the actress claimed that it was enough for her to not worry about working ever again.
