EastEnders spoilers follow. EastEnders introduces a mystery new character next week, as Eve Unwin’s past is explored.

A big week for Eve will see her agree to go on a date with newcomer Caz, who is hiding her real identity under the guise of Amanda.

Suki is unnerved when she overhears a woman is looking for Eve in the café in next Monday’s episode (August 14).

Jealous, Suki stops Bernie sharing information on Eve’s whereabouts with Caz, assuming that she’s a new love interest.

It doesn’t take long for Caz’s enquiries to get back to Eve anyway and she goes to the café to investigate her secret admirer.

Eve agrees to go on a date with Caz – who she believes is called Amanda – but soon begins to wonder whether this is a good idea after all.

Eve later becomes distracted by Stacey’s situation with Theo, who invites Stacey out for a drink under the guise of supporting her ahead of her upcoming viability assessment to check if she’s a suitable guardian to Lily’s baby.

A delusional Theo assumes it’s a date, but is later rattled when Eve gatecrashes it as well. The following day, Stacey encourages Eve to move on with ‘Amanda’, but Eve claps back and insists Stacey should stop leading Theo on.

After taking Eve’s advice about Theo, Stacey implores her to move on from Suki and go on the date. Already unsure, Eve decides she can’t meet ‘Amanda’ anyway, when Stacey becomes spooked by another letter from her stalker.

Following some encouragement from Stacey, Eve agrees to go after all but the date is awkward and she decides to leave early. However, before Eve can get away, ‘Amanda’ stops her in her tracks and reveals her true identity as Caroline.

Stacey supports Eve as she reels from this afterwards, and advises her against seeing Caroline again. As Stacey prepares for her visit from the social worker, Eve goes against her advice and meets Caroline at Walford East.

Fans will have to wait and see what happens when Eve comes face-to-face with Caroline again, but she is left in a terrible state in the aftermath.

When Theo feigns concern for her wellbeing, Eve bursts into a fit of rage and trashes the kitchen. But what has happened, and what will it mean for Eve?Teasing Caroline’s identity, Heather Peace – who plays Eve – said: “It’s a massive chunk of Eve’s history coming back to haunt her, and this is pretty much the most shocking person she could bump into.

“Eve has been going out a lot since the Suki break up – and when she goes out, she doesn’t know when to stop.

“She initially thinks, ‘If this girl knows me, I must have met her while I was out.’ I guess, somewhere in the depths of her mind, Eve knows she has seen her face before, and she’s just putting two and two together.”
