Donnie Wahlberg’S “Bittersweet” Video From ‘Blue Bloods’ Set Has Fans Concerned

Blue Bloods fans know that the show as we know it is coming to an end. The midseason finale aired on May 17, and the show is currently in production on final episodes set to air in the fall. Fans and stars of the show have petitioned to have it continue, and CBS has hinted at a spinoff, but we expect the series in its current form to wrap up before the end of the year.

Donnie Wahlberg, who stars as Danny Reagan, posted a lighthearted video of some of the cast members dancing, but some eagle-eyed fans found it cause for concern.

In Donnie’s video, he is participating in the Get Down Dance Challenge along with costars Vanessa Ray, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Sami Gayle, Will Hochman, and more. The dance is set to Donnie’s new New Kids on the Block song featuring DJ Jazzy Jeff. The actor writes, “Bittersweet day on set — but The Blue Bloods Family was up for the Get Down Dance Challenge to lighten the mood! Blockheads, we need you ready to join in! Either in your seats, in the aisles, in your magic seats or wherever you are in the building, during the Magic Summer Tour 2024!”

Fans in the comment section immediately questioned Donnie’s word choice. It doesn’t seem to be the end of filming (Donnie shared on his story that filming was done “for the week”), but viewers noticed the actors’ attire in the video. Instead of their typical outfits, they seem to be wearing dress uniforms, typically reserved for more formal occasions.

Commenters left messages like, “They’re dressed like they attended a funeral. Look at Sami’s dress.” Another said, “I was thinking the same thing! Donnie dressed in blues means a funeral 😩😩😩” Bridget reposted the video and one of her fans wrote, “Oh oh if they are in their formal uniforms does this end show mean there is a funeral?” One more optimistic fan said, “could be at someone’s promotion or Frank’s retirement.”

We have to admit, this has us concerned too. We’ll have to wait until fall to see what happened during filming.
