Blue Bloods fans, you’re in luck! Another season of the beloved cop drama is headed your way—it might just be a while. Blue Bloods season 14 was renewed in the spring of 2023, however, around the same time, the writers’ strike and actors’ strike in Hollywood kicked off. After 118 days of picketing and negotiating—which made for the longest strike against TV and film studios in Hollywood history—SAG-AFTRA announced that a deal had finally been made, officially ending the strike on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

In short, this means that studios can finally get back to work, and production on shows that typically premiere in the fall (but have been on pause since early spring) can resume.Blue Bloods star (and New Kids on the Block singer) Donnie Wahlberg shared the good news with fans, showing a video of him on the Blue Bloods set. He wrote, “Thank you for your patience. It’s about that time again. Can’t wait to be back with the most amazing cast & crew on TV! #BlueBloods Season 14, here we come. ❤️💙🎬🎥 #thankful #Brooklyn Let’s Go!”

All this to say: While there won’t be new episodes of Blue Bloods on TV this fall, rest assured, new storylines are in the works for Season 14, which is set to premiere in 2024. While little is known about where the show will take us in the upcoming season, we can expect to see our favorite regular faces, including Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez, and Vanessa Ray. There may even be a continued storyline with Jennifer Esposito (Danny’s former partner, detective Jackie Curatola), after all, she appeared in the Season 13 finale.

Now the question is, will Season 14 be the last? Unfortunately yes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show’s last season will be split into two parts, with some airing in the winter, and then wrapping up in the fall.
