Could The Blue Bloods Spin-Off Be More Like The Criminal Minds Revival?

When we learned that a Blue Bloods spin-off was potentially in the works, we were excited. There is no way that we want to see the series come to an end. Any sort of spin-off will be exciting to watch.

The problem is there isn’t a clear spin-off direction. It’s hard to say what the show could do. I guess there’s the option of following Jamie undercover or we could see Erin go for DA, but each episode has always focused on the entire Reagan family instead of just one or two characters.

The only other option would be to bring a series that features some of the Reagan family members now and then. We could see a spin-off a little like Station 19, which features the Grey’s Anatomy characters now and then. That’s now what we want when it comes to a Blue Bloods off-shoot, though.

Could Blue Bloods become a Criminal Minds-like revival?

There is another way to handle a spin-off, though. We know that the lead cast isn’t happy about the cancellation. Tom Selleck keeps saying that he is here to do more with Frank if asked. We know many others are interested in continuing the stories of their characters.

This was the same as the Criminal Minds cast when that show was canceled by CBS. Nobody really wanted it to end, and it led to the development of the revival. Originally, that revival was described as a spin-off series, and then almost everyone from the Season 15 cast returned. Many publications have called Evolution Season 16 and onward of the main series.

Is this what a Blue Bloods spin-off could turn into? There’s a chance that CBS is calling it an off-shoot or a spin-off only while the series is in some initial stages. This gives everyone a chance to find out who will come back to determine if it is more of a revival or a continuation rather than a standard spin-off.
