Blue Bloods’ Star Makes Hallmark Movie Debut In “Bucket List” Role

Blue Bloods may be over but our favorite actors from the show are moving on to fulfill other bucket-list roles. Steve Schirripa, who plays Detective Anthony Abetemarco in the series, is pivoting from a television career in crime (he also co-starred in The Sopranos) to a lighter, more loving side of the small screen.

That’s right! On Saturday, February 22, nostalgic Anthony Abetemarco fans can catch the big teddy bear in Rachael Leigh Cook’s new Hallmark Channel movie Sisterhood, Inc.—and he couldn’t be more excited.

On February 12, 2025, the 67-year-old actor revealed his latest dream role with Us Weekly. “It was, believe it or not, a bucket list thing,” he told associate editor Eliza Thompson. “How many guys can go from The Sopranos to Hallmark?”

While Steve has a small role in the new movie, he’s hopeful it will open the door to more Hallmark opportunities.

“I made the jump and I was very happy [when I was offered the role] and we had a wonderful time,” he told Us Weekly. “And we shot it up in the Albany area. It’s a Valentine’s Day kind of movie. The cast is wonderful. I really had a good time. I hope to do more.”

And we can’t blame him! Being part of a loving plot has to be a much different experience than being a mobster or detective.

“There’s no arguing, no killing, no nothing,” he told Us Weekly of his debut Hallmark role. “Even on Blue Bloods, which I loved, I must’ve killed four or five people. I killed more people as a cop than I did as a mobster!”
