There’s one Blue Bloods scene that everyone keeps speculating about ahead of the show’s series finale. The cast members have teased that they filmed a funeral for season 14, and CBS finally released photos of the scene in question, sending fans into a frenzy.
Who Attends the ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 14 Funeral?
The finale episode of Blue Bloods is titled “End of Tour.” It will premiere on CBS on December 13, 2024.
According to images released by CBS, Frank Reagan, Henry Reagan, Eddie Janko-Reagan, Jamie Reagan, Danny Reagan, Erin Reagan, Mayor Peter Chase, Maria Baez and Jack Boyle, are all seen at the funeral. In the background of the photos, several other members of the NYPD are in attendance dressed in their uniforms.
Just because someone is not in the photos that were released ahead of the episode does not mean they did not attend the funeral. This is only just a small glimpse of what’s to come in the series finale.
However, it’s pretty safe to say that most of the main cast members seem to be safe and will not be getting killed off the show. We would not rule out the possibility of a secondary character getting killed off. In the funeral pictures, Eddie is sitting next to the mayor. Her partner, Luis Badillo, is noticeably not in the photos. He’s a pretty good guess as to who might possibly be killed off.
The synopsis of the episode is as follows: “It’s all hands on deck for the Reagan family, as they race to stop deadly mayhem in the city when the gangs of New York unite together to demand amnesty for the release of their imprisoned members and those awaiting trial, in the historic series finale episode of Blue Bloods.”
Clues About Which Character Dies
In another photo, a floral arrangement can be seen in the background in the shape of an NYPD badge, indicating that the deceased was a member of the police force.
In a trailer for the final episodes of season 14, the funeralgoers are seen saluting the coffin. Mayor Peter Chase, who is wearing a sling in the promo, puts his hand over his chest. It appears the mayor is injured during the episode, as a promotional image was released showing Frank visiting him in the hospital.
Along the same lines, photos were released of Eddie wearing a hospital gown and sitting in a wheelchair. It appears Danny is the one who comforts her while she is in the hospital. It is unclear if the mayor and Eddie are involved in the same incident that lands them both in the hospital. And it is unclear if Badillo was involved in the same incident.
Cast Members Tease Funeral Scene
Len Cariou, who plays Henry, recalled filming the scene at the funeral.
“The last scene, of course, was at a funeral, and so we weren’t even in the house the day that we wrapped it up,” he told TV Insider in November 2024. “I was finished that day myself and several of the others, Tom [Selleck]‘s group of guys, Bridget [Moynahan] and Steve [Schirripa], and the others, they were done that day, too, before the rest of the episode was finished.”
Abigail Hawk, who plays Abigail Baker on the show, also teased the scene.
“My last day, Tom’s last day, gosh, quite a few of our last days on set, was at a cemetery,” she said, per several outlets. “Which is not giving anything away, but certainly dangling a little teaser.”
