‘Blue Bloods’ Reveals Linda Reagan Returned To Give Danny An Important Message

The lack of closure surrounding Linda Reagan’s heartbreaking death angered and confused Blue Bloods fans. Besides a brief remark of her demise during the Season 8 premiere that Danny Reagan’s (Donnie Wahlberg) wife, played by Amy Carlson, had died in a helicopter accident, there was no warning—and no proper goodbye. Now, the show is sneakily bringing Linda back in.

It all started back in November, on an episode titled “By Hook or by Crook.” Infamous drug cartel member Luis Delgado (Lou Diamond Phillips) reappeared to confront Danny and bring him some grim news. “[There’s] something I’ve been wanting to tell you,” Luis said to the NYPD investigator. “You know your wife’s helicopter accident? It really wasn’t an accident.” Luis then claimed Linda was killed by one of his gang members.

But that revelation was just the beginning. The Cheat Sheet points out that later, on “Ripple Effect,” Linda was not only mentioned—but she actually contacted her husband. As Danny was working with a medium to solve a case, he began to question her so-called “gift” of contacting the beyond. That’s when the woman abruptly asked him: “Who’s Linda?” The comment shocked the father of two, who demanded she leave.

But clearly, the moment intrigued Danny, and they later met up again. The clairvoyant first apologized for asking about Linda, before informing Danny: “She didn’t die. She was murdered.”

The statement visibly shook Danny. “I don’t want your help. I have no interest in communicating with the dead, okay? My wife knows how much I love her,” he said. As he began to walk away, the psychic called out: “She says she loves you more.” The revelation caused Danny to pause—but just for a moment. Although the conclusion might not exactly be what viewers want, it seems as if Danny has made peace with the tragedy.
