Though Blue Bloods fans are no longer getting their fix of the Reagan family after the show ended, the beloved actors are still supporting each other’s latest projects! Donnie Wahlberg and Abigail Hawk both praised costar Will Hochman amid the exciting news of his newest role.
On March 19, Variety reported that Will, 33, would star in The Boys’ prequel series called Vought Rising. According to the outlet, the upcoming show will take place in the 1950s and will be a “twisted murder mystery.” The Boys’ Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash will also star in Vought Rising, along with Elizabeth Posey.
Will then shared the exciting news on his Instagram account, earning supportive comments and love from fans, celebrity friends and fellow Blue Bloods cast members.
“Yes!!!!!!” Abigail, 42, commented underneath Will’s Instagram post with a fire emoji.
“Let’s goooooooo!” Donnie, 55, wrote along with a fire emoji.
“He should also make some guest appearances on Boston Blue when Joe Hill is working with the Federal Task Force again!” one person replied to Donnie’s comment.
Will played Joe Hill on Blue Bloods from 2020 to 2024. In the show’s December 2024 series finale, his character helped the rest of the Reagan crew take down a gang in New York City after gang members were wreaking havoc around town, including an incident that landed Eddie Janko-Reagan in the hospital. Joe was also invited to the final Reagan family dinner, which closed out the final episode in a beautiful way.
Blue Bloods was unfortunately canceled at CBS after 14 seasons, but the show’s cast members have wasted no time finding other gigs. It was announced by CBS that Donnie would lead an expansion of the Blue Bloods universe called Boston Blue.
So far, no other casting announcements were made about the new offshoot. Hopefully, we do see some familiar Blue Bloods characters pop up for appearances in Boston Blue in the future when the show airs its first season during the 2025-2026 broadcast season.
Other commenters shared their support for Will, with one person writing, “The rise of Hochman. global baby!!!!”
“Congratulations!!! Will definitely watch,” another person said.
“Congratulations on the new gig!” another commenter said.
“THERE IT ISSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSIR!!!!!!!!!!” someone else said.
