Fans of the CBS police drama aren’t ready to say goodbye to the Reagans just yet.

-On November 20, 2023, it was announced that Blue Bloods S14 would be the show’s final season.

-Blue Bloods fans have launched a petition on Change.org to try to save the series.

-Despite our best efforts, so far the petition has only collected 893 signatures.

Recently, it was announced that Blue Bloods Season 14 will be the show’s finale. Fans had mixed reactions: while some said it was a long time coming, others thought the Reagans should keep going as long as Tom Selleck was willing. The latter group even launched a campaign against the cancellation!

Blue Bloods fans petitioned against the cancellation

On November 20, 2023, the official Blue Bloods Facebook account invited fans to join the crew for “the final season of Blue Bloods,” thus announcing that S14 would conclude the series. In the comments section and on other media, audiences shared their wonderful memories of the show and expressed their sadness at its end.

Immediately after the announcement, Alex Bogue, one of the show’s fans, started a petiti on on Change.org asking to stop the cancellation of Blue Bloods. Its goal is to approach NBC and Paramount+ executives if it has enough signatures.

“It was just a few minutes ago when our fans received the news that Blue Bloods would be canceled after 14 seasons. Even though it has been around for a long time, it still has a lot to offer and explore. Let’s spread this everywhere! Use the hashtag #SaveBlueBloods. Let your voice be heard,” Bogue wrote in the petition.”

By sharing this petition on Reddit and other social networks, Blue Bloods fans try to attract more attention to the cancellation of their favorite show – but admittedly, so far there has been too few people participated in the campaign considering the popularity of the program.

The #SaveBlueBloods petition is seriously underperforming

Blue Bloods has been one of the most popular police procedurals for years now, and many fans said they were upset with the show’s cancellation. However, Bogue’s petition did not attract a significant number of signatures in support.

As of the time of writing – a month and a half after starting the petition – there are only 893 signatures on Change.org and 112 of these people signed the petition this week after it was divided Shared on the Blue Bloods subreddit. This number is not comparable to the show’s viewership statistics so the petition is performing poorly.

If anything, there’s a risk that moderators could see the current state of the campaign as another sign of Blue Bloods’ decline. Unless more fans join the petition and increase the number of signatures, there is no way for it to influence the decision that seemed to have been fixed at the time of the announcement.

Blue Bloods has had a great run over the past 13 years and some fans agree that it’s time for the show to end. Others say there are still many more stories the Reagan family could tell – but if they want to change their mind, they will have to do better than 893 signatures. Otherwise, the program will not be saved.
