It’s been a while since we’ve watched the Reagan family face the danger of undercover operations. Well, that’s about to change as Blue Bloods Season 14 gets started. The synopsis for the premiere is out, and it’s clear that the stakes are high.
This is the final season of the series, after all. A show needs to put lives on the line and go out with a bang, and sometimes, it does mean that we’ll say an abrupt goodbye to a character. The question is whether it’s going to be the character going on the undercover mission. Jamie Reagan is the one heading undercover, but what will this mean?
What’s Jamie’s mission in the Blue Bloods Season 14 premiere?
The synopsis doesn’t tell us too much of what to expect for Jamie. We know that he’s heading into a deadly undercover mission that involves sex trafficking. Some of the photos we’ve seen of the new season show Jamie with tattoos and a beard. He certainly looks rougher than normal.
He’s going after a man called Hader. Nothing about Hader has been shared, except that he’ll be played by the formidable Aaron Abrams. That could mean this is a character we’ll see show up more than once. Why bring in such an amazing guest star for just one episode, especially when we’re going into the final season?
There are a lot of fans excited to see what’s to come for Jamie, even if they are apprehensive. After all, Jamie’s career has been a little stagnant for a while. His storylines have been a little bland compared to many of the other characters on the show. It’s time to give Will Estes more to work with as we go into the final episodes.
“Jamie goes under cover with a deadly human trafficking ring; Danny and Baez investigate a homicide connected to Darryl Reid, Danny’s old partner; Frank grapples with whether to publicly support Mayor Chase on a policy decision.”
Blue Bloods Season 14 premieres on Friday, Feb. 16 at 10/9c on CBS. Catch up on the series on Paramount+.
