Years ago, Katharine Ross was attacked with scissors by her 36-year-old daughter. This incident led to Ross cutting her daughter out of her life for a certain period of time in her life. Fans know Ross as the “it girl” of the 1960s and 1970s when she starred in hit movies like “The Graduate” with Dustin Hoffman and “Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid” with Paul Newman, Robert Redford, and then-husband-to-be Sam Elliott. Now, they’ve been married for over three decades.

Although she’s been married five times throughout her career, her marriage to Elliott has lasted since 1984, standing the test of time. Together, they share a daughter named Cleo Rose. Unfortunately, she didn’t share a good relationship with her daughter. Ross, 81, lives a quiet life in Malibu away from show business with her husband.
THE PAINFUL INCIDENT
In 2011, Ross asked for a restraining order against Cleo Rose after she allegedly threatened to kill her in her own home in Malibu. In her formal complaint, the actress explained that her daughter had always abused her verbally and emotionally but that when she entered adolescence, she became more violent.During the incident that caused her to file a restraining order against Cleo, her daughter allegedly lost her temper and expressed her desire to kill her own mother. She then kicked in a cupboard door in the kitchen and proceeded to follow her mom around the house.
THE SURPRISING ATTACK
Reportedly, Cleo went for her mother’s eye, and when Ross tried to call the police, her daughter cut the line with scissors. Right after that, she was stabbed with a pair of scissors that pierced through her clothes and left marks on her skin.The restraining order entered into force on March 8, 2011, and was supposed to take effect until a hearing at the end of that same month. It was established that Cleo was to be at least 100 yards from her mother’s house, car, or wherever she was.
HER RESTRAINING ORDER
None of the parties appeared in the hearing, so the restraining order was suspended. It was later revealed that the duo patched things up as they started appearing on red carpet events together with Elliott in later years. Now, ten years after the incident, Ross, 81, lives a quiet life in Malibu away from show business with her husband. Her latest sighting was back in June when she made a visit to the post office.

During the outing, the Golden Globe Award winner wore a blue and white striped shirt, jeans, and a pair of trusty leather boots. She accessorized her look with a white and blue scarf, and of course, a face mask to keep herself safe against COVID-19.While her blond locks were replaced by gray hair, Ross still kept her youthful glow through the years. Although Ross was born in Hollywood, she spent her childhood in Walnut Creek, near San Francisco. While studying in Santa Rosa, California, she developed a passion for acting.
