What is the 1923 season 2 release date? Since premiering in 2018, it’s no exaggeration to say that Yellowstone has taken the world by storm, with Taylor Sheridan opening up the world of politics, drama, and other chaos around the titular ranch. As Paramount’s TV goliath, Yellowstone is one of the best drama series out there, inspired by the best Westerns on the big screen, and has since spanned a frankly absurd amount of spin-offs.

Among them? 1923, which stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. After the successful first season concluded in February 2023, fans are now anxiously awaiting more news about this prequel, which features plenty of characters related to the Duttons. Here’s what we know about the 1923 season 2 release date, plot, returning members of the 1923 cast, and more.

1923 season 2 release date speculation

1923 season 2 was officially announced in February 2023, and although we don’t know the official release date yet, we believe the Dutton family is likely to be back on our screens by early 2024. However, there’s a spanner in the works. Local press in Montana reported in June 2023 that the production has been delayed indefinitely due to the 2023 Writers Strike. With another strike on the horizon, this time centering actors, it’s possible that production for 1923 may well be delayed even further — especially if cast members are among those striking. We’ll keep you posted when we know more.

Who’s in the 1923 season 2 cast?

Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Brandon Sklenar, and Darren Mann are all expected to return for 1923 season 2. Ford’s certainly keen to get going again, telling The Hollywood Reporter: “I really didn’t realize how much work 1923 was going to be, and I absolutely feel it’s worth it. I’m excited to do another season.”

What will 1923 season 2 be about?

The 1923 season 2 plot will follow Jacob and Cara Dutton as they continue to deal with the financial and social hardships of life in the 1920s and try to protect their ranch from the clutches of Donald Whitfield. 1923 ended with the Duttons facing an uncertain future after Donald Whitfield paid the Yellowstone ranch‘s property tax, meaning he’ll get possession of the farm if they can’t pay him back in one year’s time. We’ve also got the fallout of Elizabeth’s miscarriage to consider as well.

Of course, the finale of season one saw Spencer and Alexandra separated as he was arrested for killing her original husband-to-be (but let’s be honest — it was justified!), and the two parted ways by agreeing that they would find each other again in Bozeman, Montana. From there, we hope they would be reunited once more and move into the Yellowstone ranch, with Spencer ready to save the day.

Actor Brandon Sklenar has suggested that Spencer Dutton will be “a different man” when 1923 season 2 comes around. Given all that, it’s a safe bet that the show will continue to explore the social challenges of the early 20th century and how they impact the lives of the people of the time. We also know, courtesy of a disappointing update by Sklenar, that 1923 season 2 will bring the show to an end. So there are plenty of threads to tie up before we say goodbye to these characters.

Is there a 1923 season 2 trailer?

No, there isn’t a 1923 season 2 trailer yet, and we won’t see one until production is able to resume after the industry strikes. But we have our fingers crossed that we’ll get one soon, once production for the TV series is able to get up and running. In the meantime, check out the video below to hear the cast and crew break down the final episode of the first season.

Where can I watch 1923 season 2?

Upon its release, 1923 season 2 will debut on the streaming service Paramount Plus, just as 1923 season 1 did. It will probably follow the same release format on one of the best streaming services: weekly releases with a mid-season break. If you already have the platform and are simply killing time until season 2 drops, then check out everything new on Paramount Plus that you can watch this month.
