Why Clint Eastwood And Burt Reynolds Were Fired From Universal

In an interview with Conan O’Brien, actor Burt Reynolds sat down for a chat with the talk show host on Conan on TBS. Recalling the good old days when he and Clint Eastwood were contractually bound to Universal Pictures, Reynolds talked about the time they were fired.

The actor gave a hilarious reason for why Eastwood was fired from the studio and it pertained to a single characteristic of the veteran actor. Talking about the departure, Conan O’Brien started the topic by asking about it to Burt Reynolds. Reynolds, in his response, stated that Clint Eastwood spoke too slowly and that was the reason Universal Pictures gave the actor for his removal!

“Well, Clint…they said ‘you know, you talk too slow and your tooth is chipped and you won’t get it fixed and you don’t listen to anybody. You just want to do things your way’ and I said ‘why are you firind me?’”

As for Burt Reynolds, the actor had an even more comedic reason for his removal since Universal Pictures bluntly told him…that he can’t act.

“And they said…you can’t act”

Well, turns out that Universal Pictures were wrong to remove Eastwood from their contract since the actor attained the status of a legendary actor due to his movies. After his acting days, Eastwood turned to directing and has got somewhat of a bad reputation due to his behaviors on set.
