As rumors continue to swirl about which Blue Bloods character will be killed off in the show’s finale, Vanessa Ray shared there are some big scenes to come for her in the show’s final episodes.
Vanessa, who portrays Eddie Janko-Reagan in the police procedural drama, revealed that she has a very significant scene with Luis Badillo, played by Ian Quinlan.
“She’s got a really good one with Badillo,” Vanessa said of the scene during an interview with TV Insider on November 22. “That’s I think probably top five favorite scenes I’ve ever shot with him just getting to work with Ian on a scene. It was cool to shoot it because think we had to shoot it about four different ways to figure out what was going to make it in the edit. So that was really fun. And then it’s a lot of family. It’s a lot of being with the family. Yeah, I would say look out for the scenes with Badillo.”
Two episodes of Blue Bloods remain, and fans are eager to see if Badillo makes it out of the show alive. The character appeared to be missing in photos shared by CBS weeks ahead of the series finale, including a highly-anticipated funeral scene.
In the finale pictures, most of the show’s main cast members are seen sitting together at a funeral. Badillo is not in the teaser photos from the funeral that were released ahead of the series finale.
In season 14, episode 16, Badillo found himself in a bit of a pickle when he was caught smoking weed. Jamie Reagan tried to get Badillo to go to rehab in order to save his job. However, Badillo refused, leading Jamie, played by Will Estes, to say he filed a false report against Badillo. It is Jamie who ended up getting a citation.
Vanessa reflected on why she felt like Badillo did not need to go to rehab.
“No, I don’t think she thinks that he needed to go to rehab, but I think that she was, anything that could be done to clear his name and to clear any sort of questioning of — She wants him to look, not just to look good, but to be safe and be protected,” the Pretty Little Liars alum told the outlet. “Because she’s like, I think with Eddie and Badillo, she’s like, ‘This guy’s in my life forever. This guy’s my brother.’ It’s such a different relationship between her and Jamie and that there’s no romance, none of that. It’s just, ‘Oh, my dumb brother did something and I wanted to do the right thing.’”
“She’s just like, ‘What can get him out of trouble? I don’t want him to be in trouble. And he was going through something.’ So I think she’s like, ‘OK, you need to talk to me, buddy.’”
The penultimate episode of Blue Bloods will air on December 6, followed by the show’s series finale on December 13. Vanessa hinted that Eddie and Jamie’s relationship will be “put to the test.”
“I don’t think people are really ready for what’s going to happen in the next two episodes,” she teased. “Everything is happening. It’s all happening all at once.”
