We’re just days away from the Blue Bloods series finale and fans are gearing up for one final goodbye. In a clip from the finale episode, Tom Selleck’s character, Frank Reagan, is faced with an impossible decision.

“I don’t think I can do that Mr. Mayor,” he is seen telling Dylan Walsh’s Mayor Peter Chase in the video shared by TVLine on Tuesday, December 10.

“You can, you’ve done it to me a million times. Get us out of this,” Peter tells Frank.

Peter is laying in a hospital bed with an apparent gunshot wound to the shoulder. He is wearing a hospital gown and has blood splattered on his neck and seeping through the gown. Frank stands above Peter’s bed during the conversation.

Later on in the clip, it appears Frank is walking away as doctors rush to tend to Peter’s wounds. In photos released ahead of the episode, Peter is wearing a sling on the shoulder that was injured as he speaks with Frank in his hospital room. Eddie Janko-Reagan, played by Vanessa Ray, was also seen in photos ahead of the episode wearing a hospital gown and sitting in a wheelchair. It’s likely these two were involved in the same incident.

Frank, Reagan and Eddie are also seen attending someone’s funeral in photos released ahead of the episode along with several other members of the Reagan crew. While we’ll have to see what the outcome is when the finale airs on December 13, the cast has promised a satisfying ending after 14 years on CBS.

“What is so special to me is the relationships you form and that’s a wonderful tribute to the ensemble we had,” Tom, 79, said in the video.

“People have grown up with this show. People have matured, started families of their own,” Abigail Hawk, who plays Abigail Baker, added.

“People can relate to Blue Bloods because they see all of our characters as just real, genuine human beings and yes there’s always a little bit of drama but they hold their truths to their traditions and the family dinner and they always make up,” Marisa Ramirez, who plays Maria Baez, said.

“We have an episode that wraps up and some closure between the audience, these characters that people have grown to love and tune in for every Friday night,” Will Estes, who plays Jamie Reagan, remarked.

Also in the video was a moment between Danny and Baez where he asked her out to go get pizza with him, hinting that fans might finally see the pair take their partnership to the next level.

“The possibility of a Danny/Baez romance has been discussed by a lot of people, not always by the show itself or the writers of the show, or even Marisa Ramirez and I,” Donnie, 55, told TV Insider in October. “But I think the audience at first was reluctant for a possible Danny and Baez relationship because of the loss of Linda. I think that was very traumatic for the viewers. It was also very traumatic for me personally being a friend of Amy Carlson and for the show.”
