Blue Bloods fans were given the first glimpse of scenes from the series finale, and it looks like things are going to get pretty intense for some of the characters.

On November 29, CBS aired the special Blue Bloods: Celebrating a Family Legacy, which featured an inside look at the series finale. In one scene, Danny Reagan was seen having a heart-to-heart conversation with grandpa Henry Reagan.

“I always told you not to bring the job home,” Henry was heard telling Danny in the clip from the finale. Danny replied, “I know, leave it in my locker after my tour.”

Henry then said, “But the problem now is…” to which Danny finished his sentence saying, “That I don’t have anybody not to bring it home to.”

This is pretty interesting considering Danny has been dropping some hints all throughout season 14 about being exhausted from his job. Other possibilities could be that this conversation alludes to a possible love connection between him and Maria Baez.

In another scene, Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan sat in his office while urging someone to make a huge decision.

“I think this is where you decide whether you stay or go,” he said in the clip.

Another short clip from the finale saw Danny speaking with Erin Reagan, Anthony Abetemarco and Baez at the station.

The official synopsis for the series finale, titled “End of Tour,” says, “It’s all h ands on deck for the Reagan family, as they race to stop deadly mayhem in the city when the gangs of New York unite together to demand amnesty for the release of their imprisoned members and those awaiting trial, in the historic series finale episode of Blue Bloods.”

Additionally, CBS released photos from the show’s finale episode, depicting a funeral for one member of the NYPD. There has been a lot of speculation about which cast member will be killed off and how it will happen, and we have some pretty good theories about what’s to come.

With so much uncertainty for the characters looming ahead of the December 13 finale, it was refreshing to see the cast members get candid during the Blue Bloods: Celebrating a Family Legacy special.

“How I’m feeling is kind of an ongoing process,” Tom, 79, said at the end of the special about the show ending after 14 successful seasons on CBS. “I mean if you work for 14 years, it’s a part of your life. I miss my Blue Bloods family.”

Donnie Wahlberg also got emotional, saying that Blue Bloods was his late mother’s favorite show and she never missed an episode.

Fans are equally as emotional about the show ending after 14 years.

“I am so bummed this show is ending. All of the actors work so well together. I’m sad. I will be buying the Blu-ray all 14 seasons set,” one person wrote in a comment on the show’s official Instagram page.

“Oh my God, am I going to miss new shows once Blue Bloods ends,” another person said. “It feels like a death in my family. CBS and Amy Reisenbach have made one huge mistake. Nothing can replace Friday nights at 10pm.”
