Blue Bloods is bringing in some guest stars to close out the historic season 14. CBS revealed that The Talk’s Amanda Kloots would be joining the cast in the show’s penultimate episode set to air on December 6.
In a press release, the network shared the plot of the second to last episode of the police procedural drama. The episode is called “Entitlement.”
“Eddie and Badillo try to help a man whose apartment has been taken over by a squatter who also happens to be Jamie’s confidential informant,” the official synopsis said. “Also, Danny and Baez investigate when a star student is found dead in her dormitory; Frank suspects the governor has an agenda when he comes to him with a proposal; and Erin oversteps when she tries to play matchmaker for Anthony, on Blue Bloods.”
Amanda, 42, was excited to reveal the news that she would be joining the Reagan crew in the episode as the season nears its end.
“Ahhh Dec 6th! So grateful that I got to be a part of this incredible family!” she wrote on Instagram on Monday, November 25.
Fans were equally as thrilled in the comments section, showing their support for Amanda and her latest project. Her late husband, Nick Cordero, appeared on the show as Victor Lugo in three episodes from 2017 to 2018.
“One of my fave shows of all time. So sad and upset that it’s ending,” one person commented on Amanda’s post. “So happy you got to be a part of a show that Nick was a part of too. Nick brought such passion and wit to Victor Lugo. Congrats on BB.”
“Wow! What an honor. This must be very full circle for you and your family given Nick’s appearances on Blue Bloods,” another person said.
“Love this show, your husband was awesome in it. I’m so sad it’s ending but looking forward to your guest appearance,” another person added.
Nick died on July 5, 2020, at age 41 from COVID-19-related complications after a three-month hospital stay. He is survived by Amanda and their son, Elvis, who was born in 2019.
In a December 2022 interview with Closer, Amanda said that “so many wonderful things” have come her way despite the tragedies she has experienced in her life.
“It isn’t an easy life. It isn’t an easy path, but I wouldn’t take it back for anything,” the Broadway star said. “It’s just been the most wonderful experience from Broadway to now being a cohost on The Talk to now creating and starring in a movie. So, if this is what [Elvis] wants to do, I will support him, whatever he wants to do.”
After Nick’s death, Blue Bloods’ Tom Selleck paid tribute to him during an appearance on The Talk in 2021.
“I did wanna say something about Nick … You know he did [one] show, but when you’re so good, that you move a writer to write another episode for you,” Tom, 79, recalled. “That’s a real validation as an actor., and the kind of actor he was. And when the crew goes ‘Yay!’ he’s coming back, that’s a validation for him as a person.”
Amanda broke down in tears after hearing Tom’s praise for her late husband.
