They starred opposite one another in the baseball film Bull Durham 36 years ago.
And Kevin Costner and Susan Sarandon reunited as they attended the Better World Fund Gala in Venice, Italy on Thursday.
The actor, 69, sweetly wrapped an arm around Susan, 77, as they posed up a storm on the red carpet during the glittering event.
Kevin, who has been at the Venice Film Festival for the next chapter in his Horizon films, was looking smart in a black suit complete with a crisp white button down and smart glossy footwear.
Susan looked incredible in a black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline combined with a black leather belt and intricate statement necklace.
She rocked a bold red lip and opted for a classic half-up, half-down hairstyle with a curled side bang.
The Thelma & Louise actress finished off the cosmetics with a dashing of blush and eyeliner.
Kevin and Susan – who were both guests of honor at the gala – played each other’s love interests in the romance film Bull Durham back in 1988.
‘A fan who has an affair with one minor-league baseball player each season meets an up-and-coming pitcher and the experienced catcher assigned to him,’ reads the plot on IMDb.
Nowadays Kevin has found himself consumed by a different project.
The actor is at the film festival for the premiere of his film Horizon: An American Saga -Chapter Two, which will take place on Saturday.
The epic Western was directed, produced and co-written by Kevin, who also stars in the film alongside Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington and Jena Malone.
It is the second part in a planned four movies centring on the exploration of the American West, following Chapter One being released in June.
However, the first film was slammed by critics and failed to ignite at the box office, with Chapter 2’s theatrical release now being delayed indefinitely.
Kevin financed the film himself, admitting to putting $38 million of his own funds into the project after spending decades trying to find a studio to make the film and even took out a loan against his Santa Barbara home.
Kevin shares Cayden, 17, Hayes, 15, and Grace, 14, with ex-wife Christine Baumgartner.
The former couple were married from 2004 until their divorce was finalized earlier this year in February.
He is also father to Annie, 40, Lily, 38, and Joe, 36 – whom he welcomed with ex-wife, Cindy Silva. He also shares son Liam, 27, with ex Bridget Rooney.
