Jamie Dutton Will Always Be A Part Of Wes Bentley
Playing the complex Jamie Dutton in Yellowstone who has a complicated relationship with his father, played by Kevin Costner, has been an experience like no other for Wes Bentley. The actor, who brought out the various nuances of the character, is now gearing up to say goodbye after the 5th and final season.
Unfortunately, owing to the Actors Strike, the 2nd part of the 5th season which was due to air in 2023, was indefinitely delayed in production and is now due to release in November 2024. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Bentley said that Jamie Dutton would always be a part of him despite the fact that he didn’t always want to hang on to the character.
He also spoke about the unexpected break in filming, how it affected his relationship with his character, and how he stayed with the process and continued to immerse himself into the role despite the uncertainties involved in the production.
“It’s been tricky though, because of the length of time. Because of the dynamics. I don’t know what they are. I’m sort of on my own here. I don’t really know what’s going on. Life happens and it drifts a bit. But I have a feeling it’s so ingrained that once we start really gearing up, it will all just come flooding back, and be overwhelming again.
Bentley also revealed that he was excited to see how the complex and volatile relationship between the father and son culminates in the show.
