Luke Grimes reveals he does not know how Yellowstone will end. After premiering on Paramount Network back in 2018, Taylor Sheridan’s Western drama has become one of television’s most talked about series, leading to the creation of multiple spin-offs and drawing impressive ratings and awards recognition. It tracks the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch and the family who owns it, exploring the various conflicts that surround their property. Grimes stars as Kayce Dutton, a Livestock Agent married to Kelsey Asbille’s Monica Long. During the first half of season 5, audiences watched Kayce deal with the loss of his second child, while John (Kevin Costner) being elected Governor created new problems for the family.

As Yellowstone’s popularity increases with season 5, viewers are eager to find out what happens next, and how the series will eventually end. However, in a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Grimes shared that not much has been revealed to him, noting that he does not think Sheridan wants him to know the conclusion. Read the actor’s comments regarding how Yellowstone ends below:

No, I don’t. I think some of the cast know the end. Some have been told. Some haven’t… And I don’t think Taylor, who writes our show, wants me to know either. I don’t know. It might affect the way you do something or play something. And it’s kind of fun to experience it this way anyway. It’s sort of like life.

Everything We Know About Yellowstone’s Future

In the mid-season finale of Yellowstone season 5, John informs Monica that there is a house on east camp she and Kayce can occupy if they help look after the ranch. He then commends his son’s strength and, by the end, Kayce and Monica appear to accept his offer, figuring that east camp could be an exception to Kayce’s vision. Tensions also came to a head between Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie (Wes Bentley) when the latter called for John’s impeachment. John eventually explains that he is aware of what Jamie knows about him and with an impending war, and both Beth and Jamie expressing a desire to eliminate the other, fans are led to believe that a death may occur before the season concludes.

The second half of Yellowstone season 5 will return this summer, and while some feel as though the show is building towards its series finale, star Cole Hauser previously revealed that this would not be the end. A renewal announcement has yet to be made, but it is likely to assume that Yellowstone will get another season, even if some of the cast may not know what lies ahead. It is unclear how much longer the show will continue, however, audiences are aware that Sheridan has a conclusion in mind.

Given how events have escalated over the course of its first eight episodes, audiences are already looking forward to finding out what happens when Yellowstone season 5 resumes. With John’s new position in jeopardy and Jamie’s knowledge of criminal activity, a heated rivalry between the Duttons is forming. For Kayce, at least, things seem to be taking a turn for the better following the heartbreaking loss of his baby. It will be interesting to see what he and Monica make of their home on east camp and if his vision comes back into play. Those excited to learn how the season ends and hopeful to get another installment in the future can be sure to catch up on Yellowstone before it returns.
