With Yellowstone’s production of final episodes underway, the news of a sequel series with three familiar faces returning will give fans something to look forward to.
A recent report by Puck indicates that Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, and Luke Grimes are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming spinoff. The actors, who became known for their characters – Rip, Beth, and Kayce – reportedly secured significant salary negotiations, with rumors of $1.25 million per episode demands, though the exact figures are kept under wraps.
There’s talk of Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer joining the cast in leading roles, a move that promises to inject fresh charisma and star power into the new narrative. However, Kevin Costner, the main star of the original series, seems unlikely to join the sequel. Despite this, Costner has hinted at the possibility of a final cameo, conditions permitting, which could provide a dramatic finale to his character’s arc.
The Yellowstone series has been described in a recent logline as another epic continuation of the Dutton narrative. It reads:
“The Dutton story continues, picking up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic tale. We are thrilled to bring this new journey to audiences around the world.”
Cole Hauser, who plays the ruggedly loyal Rip Wheeler, has openly discussed the potential evolution of his character and that of Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton beyond the original series. In an interview with Country Living, Hauser expressed a keen focus on concluding “Yellowstone” fittingly while hinting at exciting prospects for his character in the sequel.
“I’m so focused on finishing Yellowstone the way it needs to be finished right now—well, just the show itself. We’ll see where that leads, but I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself and some of the other cast. I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with that but right now it’s just, let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can.”

Yellowstone Star Promises the Best Ever Finale in Television History
Recently, Yellowstone star Ian Bohen boldly predicted that the series finale would be the best in television history. In his interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor, who has been a staple on the series, stressed that the concluding episodes will not only meet but exceed expectations.
“The fans are going to get the [best] conclusion that could possibly be written. Everything will land in a way that is perfectly set. A lot of shows just kind of finish… and they don’t satisfy you. This will be completed in a way that it will make sense. I don’t know that any show has finished this strongly ever.”
We’re expecting to have the best series finale in history. Overconfident maybe, but I think that’s what it’s going to be. We thank everyone for their patience… It’ll be worth the wait, I promise,” Bohen said. The series star reassured fans that the wait will be worthwhile.
