‘Blue Bloods’ will return for season 14. Here is everything to know about the highly anticipated upcoming season
In spring 2023, it was announced that Blue Bloods had been renewed for season 14.
To date, the series has aired 275 episodes since its premiere in 2010 and focuses on the Reagan family, all of whom have careers in law enforcement and justice. Centered around patriarch Frank Regan, the family constantly struggles with morality, justice, and the difficult decisions that sometimes tear them apart.
Starring Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Will Estes and Bridget Moynahan, Blue Bloods has become one of the longest-running police procedurals in television history thanks to its realistic and compelling characters. But even though the series has been renewed for a new season, it may be a while before fans see it debut on screen.

When will season 14 of Blue Bloods air?
Shortly after Blue Bloods was renewed in March 2023, the Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strike began, shutting down production on much of the series and films.
While no official announcement has been made, it appears the season didn’t even begin production before the strike, meaning it could be quite a while before fans get to know anything. will happen next with the Reagans.
CBS also confirmed that the Blue Bloods will not return for the 2023 season when they announced their fall lineup in early August on their Instagram. The network said it will air “classic episodes” of Blue Bloods this season, meaning reruns of older episodes.
Who will return in season 14 of Blue Bloods?
When season 14 was announced, it became clear that Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez, and Vanessa Ray would all return for the upcoming season.
Sadly, Treat Williams will not be returning for the new season as the actor passed away on June 12 after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Williams had a recurring role on the series as writer Lenny Ross, a retired detective.
After his death, Williams’ Blue Bloods co-stars paid tribute to the actor, with Moynahan telling PEOPLE: “His love and devotion to his family was something that touched everyone. admire. We have lost a good thing, friends. RIP treatment.”
How does season 13 of Blue Bloods end?
The final episode of season 13 brought back many Blue Blood characters who haven’t appeared in a long time. When notorious assassin Dr. Walker begins another killing spree, Danny (Wahlberg) teams up with detective Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito), who has been missing since season 3 and now lives in a small town. Dr. Walker attacks Jackie, but she fights him off, and he eventually flees into the night.
Also in the episode, Erin (Moynahan) brings the abuser to justice after he was previously released, ultimately sentencing him to 25 years in prison. She later announced to the press that she had decided not to run for DA.
The episode ends with the iconic family dinner the show is known for and more familiar faces from previous seasons appear. At dinner are Danny’s oldest son Jack (Tony Terraciano), who was last seen in the season 12 premiere, and Erin’s daughter Nicky (Sami Gayle), who was last seen in season 11 .
Will Blue Bloods have another season after season 14?
Currently, Blue Bloods has only been renewed for one more season, but Selleck thinks the show could last much longer. “I don’t think there’s an end in sight,” he told PEOPLE. “I think there’s a lot of life in the show, as long as you let your characters grow and age.”
“There was an evolution,” the actor continued. “It started as a character-based show and now it’s even more than that. When you get to a point like this, and we certainly had it on [Magnum P.I.], the audience is really inside the main characters’ heads.”
However, shortly after the show was renewed, Wahlberg admitted that season 14 could be the last. “I love Blue Bloods, and I think if there wasn’t a season 14, loyal fans of the show would be very, very angry,” the actor told PEOPLE. He continued, “If the show ends without [the audience] having a proper farewell… I think they will be very embarrassed. So I suspect [we will] have at least one more season.”
