1923 Season 2 Viewers All Say Same Thing As Excruciating Season Finale In Sight

1923 airs on Sundays on Paramount Plus and the end is almost in sight after it was announced the Yellowstone prequel would end after two outings. Episode six is due to air this Sunday, March 30, and there are eight episodes in total.

The second season has followed the excruciating journeys of Alex (played by Julia Schlaepfer) and Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) as they hope to reunite in Montana. Both have been through their fair share of ordeals and the final destination is still not in sight.

With the series almost over, viewers were hoping to see the pair back in one another’s arms, particularly as Alex is carrying Spencer’s baby. There are signs the end is drawing near as news of Spencer’s return finally reached the Montana Sheriff.

However, Alex is still a long way away from her husband’s reach and viewers are desperate to see whether they actually do reunite before the series ends. They have taken to social media to express their frustration at the slow and agonising pace of season two.

Taking to Reddit, No-Atmosphere4706 shared: “I’m enjoying it although it feels painfully slow. And they are killing me with the cliffhangers. Starts to really get going and then an abrupt stop. I love Alex and how tough she’s learning to be. I could do without the rich men taking advantage of women but my guess is it’s probably pretty true to history since it is today as well.”

Perspicacious33 added: “Every week I say to my wife….Ok are you ready to watch an hour of Spencer not getting there again.”

Foreign_Donkey463 shared: “I can’t believe this is turning into a let’s watch Spencer and Alex try to get home (separately now). It’s like watching paint dry.”

Thebloodylines agreed: “The struggle and strife is just getting old. It’s unnecessarily tragic.”

InternationalAd1512 shared earlier on: “Four episodes in—the halfway point—and I can’t believe how slow and boring it is. All of the episodes are plot driven instead of character driven. Spencer is languishing on a silly bootlegging boondoggle, Alex getting robbed—it’s all filler.”

However, there were some fans who believed the second outing was more about the journey, rather than the destination.

Strange-Employee-520 commented: “I’m the one person on this sub who likes it. But I’m a big “it’s about the journey” person. I also found Alex and Spencer together painful to watch, but I’m kind of into solo Alex finding her way.”

WallyBearKatieBug added: “I’m loving Alex making her own way. Hate seeing her just be abused like that. And now there’s some shifty eye SOB that clearly is up to no good gonna rob her? Rp her? Clearly it’s gonna be bad.”

Cmcmcu concluded: “I also am enjoying it for the journey. I’m not sure what all the hate is about.”

They will have to wait and see whether Alex and Spencer finally meet in Montana before the series concludes.
